Jane LITTLE arrived in Melbourne from Ireland via Liverpool with her parents James LITTLE and Jane BOYD per "Wallace" on 27 November 1841. Both parents were born in Ireland ~1799 and married in Ireland ~1822 before coming to Australia with 9 children (see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dotwells/wallace2.htm and a flyer for "A Little Family History" from the Little family in Warnambool, Victoria). Apart from having been born in Ireland, there is no indication as to the origins of the LITTLE family, although given the name they could have been recent arrivals from England or Scotland.
Jane LITTLE was born ~1829 (she was listed as 12 years old when she arrived in 1841). She later married Roderick GOLLAN on 27 Jun 1848 (Victorian marriage certificate). They in turn had six children (1849-1862, Victorian BDM index).
Jane's brother, James LITTLE, married Jamesina Paxton GOLLAN (possibly related to Roderick GOLLAN).
Jane BOYD, daughter of John BOYD (born ~1751) and Mary (born ~1772) of Drumbanagher, was born to the Boyd family of Poyntzpass, just north of Newry in Co Armagh, Ireland, and went to Australia with James LITTLE ~1841 (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lboyd/ and http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lboyd/Drumbanagherboyds.htm). This "Drumbanagher Boyds" page above suggests that John BOYD was born in Northern Ireland, or perhaps in Scotland. I have not found a matching John Boyd in the Scottish records born ~1751.

In the Victorian BDM index, the birthplace of James LITTLE is recorded as "NEWR" (Newry) in his death entry. I searched for them in the Belfast records office to no avail. Jane BOYD's birthplace on her death certificate is "Ireland".
